Encrypted bookmark sync without a browser account

Buck Sync connects bookmarks and folders across Windows, Linux and Android. Pair devices with a six-word phrase and keep bookmark content end-to-end encrypted.

Pair your first two devices

  1. On the first device, open Settings → Sync and start a group.
  2. Choose Pair another device to display its six-word pairing phrase.
  3. On the second device, open Settings → Sync, choose Pair this device and enter the phrase.
  4. Check the paired-device list, sync status and pending changes on both devices.

Keep the pairing phrase private. Never send it to support or include it in a screenshot. Device pairing works between the supported Windows, Linux and Android editions.

What sync includes

Add, rename, move or remove a bookmark or folder on one paired device to keep the others in step. Use Sync now for an immediate refresh. Buck Sync covers bookmarks and folders; it does not sync passwords or browsing history. Private browsing stays outside the sync group.

Encryption and service metadata

Bookmark content is encrypted before leaving your device, and the relay cannot read it. Sync connections use HTTPS. Group and device identifiers, device labels and status metadata remain visible to the service so it can operate synchronization.

The relay retains encrypted group records, deletion markers and necessary protocol metadata for synchronization and recovery. Those records do not automatically expire. Read the privacy policy for retention and removal details.

Leave a group or troubleshoot

Leaving a group stops sync on that device and retains its local bookmarks and the remaining group. It does not erase all relay records or backups. Before troubleshooting, check the connection, paired-device list and pending changes. Find support details in Buck Browser help.
